Behind the Page
It’s Awesome Ladies Live week, and things are crazy hectic around here. To that end, I’ve been playing around with Daily Pages using things that I know and love. Just making, and not pushing yourself to try something brand new, or make something perfectly is essential for keeping up with a creative habit while life is getting chaotic.
Technique of the Day
Today I pulled out my alpha stencils to see how they’d work with my new paint markers (spoiler alert — pretty freaking awesome). I’ve been using these markers for a few months now, and while I’ve used them with stencils before, I hadn’t tried them with letters.
I was pleasantly surprised at how well it turned out. There was a little leakage, but I was able to wipe off most of the excess. It’s so much fun to experiment with things you already know you have fun with. Especially when the stakes are so low.
Reflections & Insights
I’ll be taking the next few days off from emails — Awesome Ladies Live is ready to get started, and it’s going to take up all of my energy through the weekend. I’ll be back on Monday with a roundup of the event, some recent Daily Pages, and thoughts on the rest of the summer! I hope that you all have a great weekend — and for those of you who are going to be here with me in East Lansing — we are going to have the best time!
